Talib Ahmed Bensouda
Talib Ahmed Bensouda brings extensive leadership experience rooted in real governance. Elected twice as Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council—one of the largest and most populated municipalities in The Gambia—he has proven that discipline, accountability, and vision can transform communities. For years, he watched the nation patiently wait for reforms and development that never came. That frustration became his motivation.
Talib founded the UNITE movement with a singular purpose: to unite Gambians around a common goal—restore trust, end divisive politics, and finally deliver the leadership Gambians deserve. But he understood early on that real change required more than a movement; it required the structure and legitimacy of a political party. And so, the movement became the UNITE Party.
On May 16th 2026, at our National Congress, Talib was democratically elected as the leader of the UNITE Party—tasked with carrying forward the vision that began as a spark of frustration and has now grown into a national force.
Talib does not just imagine a better Gambia; he has already taken a giant step toward leading the party that will carry the nation forward.
As he confidently says: "The transformation season has begun!"
